The Storytelling Art of the Metal Doodler
By Varsha Sekaram
Salome is an artist who has managed to create her own universe of fascinating creatures using a blend of recycled metal devices, watercolor, metal etching, acrylic and other mediums. From mothbots to copperflies, each of Salome's creations has its own story, and she breathes life into them by picking apart intricate metal fragments from ruined devices and then reassembling them to form miniature bots.
Self-taught and inspired by metal, Salome work involves bending and shaping the metal to her will, creating pieces that tell a story and leave a lasting impression on the viewer. Her unique artform blends traditional and modern techniques, resulting in a vast array of mediums that bring her creations to life.
For Salome, each piece is an opportunity to tell a story and explore new ways of combining different materials and techniques. Her creations are a reflection of her imagination and a testament to her creativity, and they stand out as some of the most interesting mixes of mediums.
